Netlify credit calculator

Credits are one number covering every resource, which is clearer than five meters right up until you need to know what one credit buys. This works it out.

Enter your own rates

Netlify publishes credit conversion rates and revises them from time to time. Rather than hardcode numbers that will quietly go stale and mislead you, this tool asks you to paste in the rates from your billing page. The defaults below are placeholders, not quotes.

How to use it#

  1. Open your Netlify billing page and find your plan's credit allowance and the conversion rates.
  2. Paste those into the top row. This is the step that makes the answer real rather than illustrative.
  3. Enter your usage so far and how many days into the period you are.

The burn rate is the useful output. A percentage tells you where you are; a burn rate tells you where you are going.

What to do with the answer#

Comfortably inside your allowance. Nothing. Check again next month.

On track to run out. On credit-based plans, running out means being charged for more rather than being cut off — so this is a bill you can see coming. Reduce it via bandwidth and build minutes, the two that usually dominate.

Already close. Netlify's warnings are the fixed 50%, 75% and 100% emails and there is no spend cap or automatic pause. Nothing will stop it for you.

Your numbers stay in your browser

This calculator is plain JavaScript running locally. Nothing you type is sent anywhere — no numbers, no results, no email gate. Read the source if you like, it is inline on this page.

For completeness: the site counts page views using our own analytics, with no cookies and no cross-site tracking, described in the privacy policy. It records that this page was viewed. It does not see what you entered into it.

Questions people actually ask

How many credits does 1 GB of Netlify bandwidth use?

It depends on your plan's conversion rates, which Netlify publishes and occasionally revises. This calculator lets you enter the rates from your own billing page rather than hardcoding numbers that may be stale.

What happens when Netlify credits run out?

On credit-based plans you can be charged for additional credits, so running out is a billing exposure rather than a hard stop. Netlify warns at 50%, 75% and 100% by email.

Am I on a credit-based plan?

Check your Netlify billing page. Netlify runs both legacy and credit-based plans, and the advice differs, so confirm before reasoning about either.

Watch the burn, not the balance

MONII tracks Netlify usage and alerts at any percentage you choose, rather than the fixed 50/75/100% emails.
