LEGAL · TERMS OF SERVICE

The deal, in plain English.

MONII watches your Vercel and Netlify projects, warns you before a bill runs away, and lets you pause a project from your phone. These are the terms that come with that. No dark patterns, no surprise renewals, no clause that lets us quietly start selling your data.

Last updated: 4 August 2026 · Effective immediately

1. Who you're dealing with

MONII ("MONII", "we", "us") is operated by The Hopium Lab Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. "You" means the person or organisation using the MONII iOS app, the @moniiapp/cli command-line tool, the @moniiapp/mcp server, or getmonii.com. We call all of those, together, the Service.

By installing the app, running the CLI, or using the Service in any other way, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it — and if you've already paid, see the refund section below.

2. What MONII does — and what it deliberately does not

MONII reads deployment, usage and billing data from hosting providers you connect, and can take a small number of actions on your behalf:

MONII is a monitoring and control surface, not a hosting provider, not a billing provider, and not an insurer. It does not deploy your code, does not modify your source, and does not change your provider's plan or payment method.

The honest limits

We want to be blunt here, because the whole product is about money and people make decisions based on what they think it guarantees:

Do not use MONII as your only defence against a runaway bill. Set spend controls with your provider as well. MONII is a smoke alarm; it is not a sprinkler system, and it is definitely not fire insurance.

3. Your accounts, your tokens, your responsibility

You connect MONII to your own Vercel and Netlify accounts using your own OAuth grant or personal access token. Every action MONII takes runs against your credentials, on your resources, as if you had taken it yourself.

That means you agree to:

Revoking a token in your provider's dashboard immediately cuts MONII off. That's the emergency brake, and it is always available to you.

4. Accounts and eligibility

You can use the iOS app anonymously with demo data. To connect a real provider you sign in with Apple, Google, or GitHub. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to enter a contract where you live.

One person, one account. Don't share credentials, don't resell access, and don't run MONII as a service on behalf of third parties without talking to us first.

5. Free tier, trial, and Pro

The 7-day trial

Every new account gets full Pro access for 7 days from first sign-in. No payment method required, and nothing charges automatically when it ends. When the trial expires, Pro features stop and you keep using the free tier until you choose to subscribe. Trial state is recorded server-side, so reinstalling the app does not reset it.

What free keeps, forever

Read access to everything you've connected, plus one emergency alert when a project hits 100% of its plan limit. We treat that last one as a duty of care: it would be indefensible to watch a free user's bill detonate and stay quiet about it because they hadn't paid.

What Pro adds

Prices and billing

PlanPriceBilling
Pro · monthly$9.99 / monthAuto-renews monthly until cancelled
Pro · yearly$99 / yearAuto-renews yearly until cancelled
Pro · lifetime$149 onceOne-off. No renewal.

Purchases are processed by Apple through in-app purchase. Apple takes the payment, Apple holds the card details, and Apple manages the renewal. We never see your payment information.

Cancelling: subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, in iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions. We cannot cancel a subscription for you — Apple doesn't give us that button. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the current period runs out.

Price changes: we may change prices. Existing subscribers keep their price until they cancel, and Apple will ask you to confirm any increase before it applies. "Lifetime" means the lifetime of the product, and we'll give at least 90 days' notice before withdrawing it.

Refunds

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue them directly. That said — if MONII failed you in a way that matters, email support@getmonii.com and we'll back your case with Apple. UK and EU consumers keep their statutory cancellation rights; nothing here removes them.

6. The open-source parts

The CLI (@moniiapp/cli) and the MCP server (@moniiapp/mcp) are open source and governed by their own licence in the repository, not by these terms. They're free, they stay free, and they run entirely on your machine against your own ~/.monii/auth.json.

These terms cover the hosted parts: the iOS app, our backend, and this website.

7. Acceptable use

Don't:

We can suspend accounts that do these things. Where it's plausibly an accident, we'll ask before we act.

8. Availability

MONII is a small independent product. We aim for high availability and we don't offer an SLA. Background monitoring, push delivery and the website may go down for maintenance, provider outages, or the ordinary chaos of software.

We may change or remove features. If we remove something a paying subscriber materially relies on, we'll say so in advance and offer a pro-rata path out.

9. Your data

How we handle data is covered in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. The short version: provider tokens stay in your device's Keychain unless you explicitly enable background monitoring, in which case an encrypted copy is stored server-side so the polling job can run while the app is closed.

Delete your account from Settings and both local and server-side data are removed.

10. Intellectual property

MONII — the name, the mark, the app, the design — belongs to us. Using the Service doesn't transfer any of it to you. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose.

Your code, your deployments and your data remain entirely yours. We claim no rights over anything MONII reads from your provider accounts.

11. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We are not liable for hosting charges. Not for a bill a missed alert didn't prevent, not for revenue lost while a kill switch had a project paused, not for a deployment a rollback reverted. Those outcomes sit with you and your hosting provider — which is exactly why section 2 spells out what MONII cannot promise.

Where liability can't be excluded, it is capped at the greater of (a) what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) $100.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't lawfully be limited. If you're a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

12. Ending it

You can stop at any time: delete your account in Settings, revoke the tokens at your provider, delete the app. We may suspend or close an account for a serious or repeated breach of section 7, and we'll tell you why unless we're legally barred from doing so.

Sections 10, 11 and 13 survive the end of these terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you're a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or the EU, you keep the protection of your local mandatory consumer law and can bring proceedings locally.

14. Changes to these terms

We'll update this page when things change, and move the "last updated" date. For changes that materially affect your rights we'll notify you in-app or by email at least 14 days beforehand. Continuing to use MONII after a change means you accept it.

15. Contact

Questions, complaints, or a clause you think is unfair: support@getmonii.com. A real person reads it.
